Latest Health Scare

Mike - Our last two weeks have basically looked like this: sick on the flight to London, sick all day in London, food poisoning upon arrival in Africa, and bad nausea and dizziness from our malaria pills. We were able to switch to a different malaria pill, luckily, and we have been doing much better with no side effects. And to top it all off - the day we arrived in Africa Becky started getting a weird terrible pain in her body. It was a random pain, that was off and on, but still something we were concerned about. After two weeks of enduring it, we went to see Dr. Ruby Sokwala Monday morning, a good doctor that we were referred to. She gave us some bad news, and we spent the entire afternoon crying and on our knees praying. We were then able to go to the Aga Khan hospital here in Kisumu, where Becky had more tests done. The whole time, we were praying for a miracle. Amazingly, the specialist told us he couldn't find anything wrong! He found no abnormality, and told us we have no reason to be scared. We couldn't believe it. What had happened? Amazing. We were speechless. I was ready to bring us home on Monday night, depending on the results - but it looks like God isn't finished with us here. What a scare, and what an answer to prayer. We took the results back to Dr. Ruby the next day, and she was overjoyed. She gave Becky a prescription just to be sure, and we are praying that this will all just go away. Honestly, thank you ALL for your prayers and support the last few days and over the past two weeks. We have SERIOUSLY needed them. We have never felt so attacked and discouraged with all of our health problems. But through God's amazing grace, through your love, encouragement and intervention in prayer, we are keeping on. To God be the glory, forever and ever, Amen!
