Posing With Our Sweet Ride!
Becky - As of late last week we were given this van to use for the remainder of our stay here...which has been unbelievable. We're able to drive ourselves & other people around everywhere now - we'd been taking the matatus (public vans) if we're not able to be picked up, and you really have to watch your wallet on those things...there are also motorbikes you can hop on the back of, or tuktuks too, but we're told because of the color of our skin (people say we "bleed money") it can be dangerous. And the bodabodas (bicycles you sit on the back of) - are a death sentence on these roads. Heehee...So we're blessed with a van we can use! It's amazing - the engine is currently working, and that's all we need! It's also the same type of van I grew up going on roads trips with, so I'm loving it (Nay Family LE Van!)! The van belongs to the church - they call it the "Miracle Van" because it's died roughly one billion times...and it's still going. However, we named him Kiboko, because he's our Hippo.
